YOU ARE YOU
You are strong ... When you take your grief and teach it to smile.
You are happy ... When you overcome our fear and help others do the same.
You are brave ... When you see a flower and are thankful for the blessing.
You are loving ... When your own pain does not blind you to the pain of others.
You are wise ... When you know the limits of your wisdom.
You are true ... When you admit there are time you fool yourself.
You are alive ... When tomorrow's hope means more to you than yesterday's mistake.
You are growing ... When you know what you are but not what you will become.
You are free ... When you are in control of yourself and do not with to control others.
You are honorable ... When you find your honor is to honor others.
You are generous ... When you can take as sweetly as you can give.
You are humble ... When you do not know how humble you are.
You are thoughtful ... When you see me just as I am and treat me just as you are.
You are merciful ... When you forgive in others the faults you condemn in yourself.
You are beautiful ... When you don't need a mirror to tell you.
You are rich ... When you never need more than what you have.
You are you ... When you are at peace with who you are not.

SUCCESS
The man who makes a success of an important venture never wails for the crowd. He strikes out for himself. It takes nerve, it takes a great lot of grit; but the man that succeeds has both. Anyone can fail. The public admires the man who has enough confidence in himself to take a chance. These chances are the main things after all. The man who tries to succeed must expect to be criticized. Nothing important was ever done but the greater number consulted previously doubted the possibility. Success is the accomplishment of that which most people think can't be done.

THE DAY BEFORE TOMORROW
The day before tomorrow; Is a very special day; And I feel that I should live it; In a happy kind of way ...
Tomorrow's so mysterious; That I really can't foresee; The things that might be happening; And the way that life might be
But the Day After Tomorrow; That's quite a different thing ...; Those hours are so much closer; I can guess what they might bring ...; I'd rather be a sparrow; Or a lily of the field; And just wait till God's will for me; Is finally revealed ...
I'll put aside the grief's and cares; The trouble I won't borrow; And just be glad I'm living in; The Day Before Tomorrow !!!

TEN PRINCIPLES FOR PEACE OF MIND (10 of 10)
[Do Not Procrastinate And Never Regret]
Do not waste time in protracted wondering " Should I or shouldn't I?" Days, weeks, months, and years may be wasted in that futile mental debating. You can never plan enough because you can never anticipate all future happenings. Value your time and do the things that need to be done. It does not matter if you fail the first time. You can learn from your mistakes and succeed the next time. Sitting back and worrying will lead to nothing. Learn from your mistakes, but do not brood over the past. Do not regret. Whatever happened was destined to happen only that way. Why cry over spilt milk?

TEN PRINCIPLES FOR PEACE OF MIND (9 of 10)
[Never Leave The Mind Vacant]
An empty mind is the devil's workshop. All evil actions start in the vacant mind. Keep your mind occupied in something positive, something worthwhile . Actively follow a hobby. Do something that holds your interest. You must decide what you value more : money or peace of mind. Your hobby, like social work or religious work, may not always earn you more money, but you will have a sense of fulfillment and achievement. Even when you are resting physically, occupy yourself in healthy reading or mental chanting of God's name.

TEN PRINCIPLES FOR PEACE OF MIND (8 of 10)
[Mediate Regularly]
Meditation calms the mind and gets rid of disturbing thoughts. This is the highest state of peace of mind. Try and experience it yourself. If you meditate earnestly for half an hour everyday, your mind will tend to become peaceful during the remaining twenty-three and half-hours. Your mind will not be easily disturbed as it was before. You would benefit by gradually increasing the period of daily meditation. You may think that this will interfere with your daily work. On the contrary, this will increase your efficiency and you will be able to produce better results in less time.

TEN PRINCIPLES FOR PEACE OF MIND (7 of 10)
[Do Not Bite off More Than You Can Chew]
This maxim needs to be remembered constantly. We often tend to take more responsibilities than we are capable of carrying out. This is done to satisfy our ego. Know your limitations. Why take on additional loads that may create more worries? You cannot gain peace of mind by expanding your external activities. Reduce your material engagements and spend time in prayer, introspection and meditation. This will reduce those thoughts in your mind that make you restless. Uncluttered mind will produce greater peace of mind.

[Endure What Cannot Be Cured]
This is the best way to turn a disadvantage into an advantage. Every day we face numerous inconveniences, ailments, irritations, and accidents that are beyond our control ... If we cannot control them or change them, we must learn to put up with these things. We must learn to endure them cheerfully. Believe in yourself and you will gain in terms of patience, inner strength and will power.

TEN PRINCIPLES FOR PEACE OF MIND (4 of 10)
[Do Not Be Jealous]
We all have experienced how jealousy can disturb our peace of mind. You know that you work harder than your colleagues in the office, but sometimes they get promotions; you do not. You started a business several years ago, but you are not as successful as your neighbour whose business is only one year old. There are several examples like these in everyday life. Should you be jealous? No. Remember everybody's life is shaped by his/her destiny, which has now become his/her reality. If you are destined to be rich, nothing in the world can stop you. If you are not so destined, no one can help you either. Nothing will be gained by blaming others for your misfortune. Jealousy will not get you anywhere; it will only take away your peace of mind.

TEN PRINCIPLES FOR PEACE OF MIND (3 of 10)
[Do Not Crave For Recognition]
This world is full of selfish people. They seldom praise anybody without selfish motives. They may praise you today because you are in power, but no sooner than you are powerless, they will forget your achievement and will start finding faults in you. Why do you wish to kill yours in striving for their recognition? Their recognition is not worth the aggravation. Do your duties ethically and sincerely.

TEN PRINCIPLES FOR PEACE OF MIND (2 of 10)
[Forgive and Forget]
This is the most powerful aid to peace of mind. We often develop ill feelings inside our heart for the person who insults us or harms us. We nurture grievances. This in turn results in loss of sleep, development of stomach ulcers, and high blood pressure. This insult or injury was done once, but nourishing of grievance goes on forever by constantly remembering it. Get over this bad habit. Life is too short to waste in such trifles. Forgive & Forget, and march on. Love flourishes in giving and forgiving.

TEN PRINCIPLES FOR PEACE OF MIND (1 of 10)
[Do Not Interfere In Others' Business Unless Asked]
Most of us create our own problems by interfering too often in others' affairs. We do so because somehow we have convinced ourselves that our way is the best way, our logic is the perfect logic and those who do not conform to our thinking must be criticized and steered to the right direction, our direction. This thinking denies the existence of individuality and consequently the existence of God.. God has created each one of us in a unique way. No two human beings can think or act in exactly the same way. All men or women act the way they do because God within them prompts them that way. Mind your own business and you will keep your peace.

Thought 16JUL2010

FRIENDSHIP FROM THE HEART
I would never trade my amazing friends, my wonderful life, my loving family for less gray hair or a flatter belly. As I've aged, I've become kinder to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend. I don't chide myself for eating that extra cookie, or for not making my bed, or for buying that silly cement gecko that I didn't need, but looks so avante garde on my patio. I am entitled to a treat, to be messy, to be extravagant. I have seen too many dear friends leave this world too soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging. Whose business is it if I choose to read or play on the computer until 4 am and sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60 & 70's, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love ... I will. I will walk the beach in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves with abandon if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set. They, too, will get old.I know.

I am sometimes forgetful. But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten. And I eventually remember the important things. Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and sterile and will never know the joy of being imperfect. I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my face. So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver. As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what other people think. I don't question myself anymore. I've even earned the right to be wrong. So, to answer your question, I like being old. It has set me free. I like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever, but while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, or worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert every single day (if I feel like it).

MAY OUR FRIENDSHIP NEVER COME APART, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART!
